From the Heart- 1 Year Anniversary of ER Trip
Hi guys! So I know that I don't normally post on Thursdays but I've decided to sometimes have extra posts to tell you about my personal life, specifically about my medical issues.
So why am I calling these posts "from the heart?" Well, I thought it would be a good name because I have a heart condition and I'm going to use these posts to talk about it! I want to share my medical experiences with others as a testament to how God has worked in my life and also to tell others that they are not alone in their medical struggles.
So I haven't gotten very specific about my medical condition but I'm going to today. I was born with a complex congenital heart defect called hypo-plastic left- heart syndrome (HLHS). Because of this condition, my heart did not finish forming before I was born and as a result, I was born with a very small left ventricle. So essentially, I have about a 2-chambered heart.
Sometimes what happens with people with my condition is that they have an atrial tachychardia. Essentially, this is when the electric system of the heart goes haywire. Well, exactly one year ago today, I had atrial tacychardia. It was definitely a scary experience but I can see that God brought me through it. It was an important day in my life that I'll never forget, one in which I faced death but was carried through it by God.
Let me know if you have any questions about what I posted today and I'll "see" you guys tomorrow!
